Romancing with the ultimate seductress: Chemistry

This writing was inspired by professor Poliakoff of University of Nottingham.

Chemistry is truly the ultimate seductress of all sciences.

That perfect inorganic figure of hers is just so sexy you can’t take your eyes off her. With the first simple elemental reaction, of sodium with water you are smitten. When you see the sublimation of iodine, you look into her eyes, oh that first contact … that’s it for you, you think its love but it’s just plain old chemistry, it’s just deadly infatuation.
For the next short span of time you are like an iron block stuck to a magnet.
Oxytocin

You are on a path now, seduced, little do you know she’s going to destroy you but you can’t stop yourself. Who cares about the future, you are one of those who wants to “live in the moment”. The paramagnetic and ferromagnetic attraction is too strong. Her radiation only makes the attraction more fatally worse. You want to have a whole nuclear family with her. So you propose to her and she says yes.  Why won’t she. After all chemistry can be made to mix and match with anything and aqua regia can dissolve gold!

She’s got her next victim and so it begins. . The protective oxide cost is scrubbed off and the acid is free to eat you away. Suddenly out of the blue you see her true colours. The radiation poisoning kicks in, who the hell knew her Americium and Moscovium roots would prove so deadly. She begins to suck you dry and kill you, like a true black widow that she is. The organic corrosives and toxins seep in and you want to run away from the deadly fumes of Dimethyl Cadmium... too late buddy... too late, should have been careful when you laid your eyes on her.

You realize now that she is not your cup of tea, she’s your death.  Oh those organic substances, so painful, so carcinogenic and toxic ughhh.

As you lay there wasting away and dying ,when she’s done with you, in your final feeling moments you being to think, how like the sweet smell of chloroform she was and you fell for her and quickly before you could even blink she transformed into deadly phosgene on contact with oxygen and killed you.
